About

In the outskirts of the vibrant neon lights and fast-paced gaming atmosphere of the Las Vegas Strip, Las Vegas Rock has been extracting exquisite meta-quartzite stone since the 1930s. Our stone has adorned iconic structures such as Frank Lloyd Wright’s designs, Bugsy Siegel’s original Flamingo Hotel, and Wilbur Clark’s Desert Inn. Situated in Goodsprings, NV., our expansive Rainbow Quarry covers approximately 920 acres and stands as a testament to the rich mining history of the area.

Unlike the conventional image of a quarry site, our property is surrounded by Joshua trees and preserved wilderness, creating a unique setting for the careful extraction of materials. In this distinctive environment, one may encounter wild horses, mountain lions, and various other fascinating wild animals. The stone products from Las Vegas Rock gained popularity among local landscape designers during the water conservation efforts of the 1980s, leading to the establishment of desert landscapes.

Meta-quartzite, a remarkably hard and versatile stone that can be polished, honed, and utilized for a multitude of applications, including waterscapes, is at the heart of our offerings. Established as a Nevada Corporation in May 1991, Las Vegas Rock was founded to produce and distribute decorative stone and related products. The Rainbow Quarries near Goodsprings, Nevada, approximately thirty-two miles south of Las Vegas at the base of Mount Potosi, serve as the source of our quarried stone.

With ownership and operation of 320 acres of patented quarry land and over 600 acres of approved mining claims in the Goodsprings Mining District, Las Vegas Rock ensures a steady supply of striated Meta-Quartzite. This durable and colorfast stone is the foundation of our boulders, crushed ground covers, flagstone, and cleave.

Our factory, located in Jean, is where the blocks from our quarry are cut and polished into slabs and other materials. Each slab is distinguished by its unique geological composition, beautiful color, and veining.

Proudly holding a Cradle to Cradle Silver Certificate, Las Vegas Rock is committed to minimizing its global footprint and utilizing 100% of the material extracted from the quarry. Whether building “Green” or involved in a LEED project, utilizing our materials not only offers quality but also provides additional advantages through our Cradle to Cradle certification.
